Today in Seattle

Today we played with the new camera - Enjoy!

Deer Fern (Blechnum spicant) in one of our salvage pots.

New leaves on the Fern Leaved Buckthorn.

The Olympics from Carkeek Park this morning.

Vine Maple leaves beginning to unfold

Trillium, happy under our deck.

Lola, with the stick she carried for a mile down the beach.  At that point, Mark had to let her take it home.....

The red flowering currant in our parking strip - total volunteer, and the hummingbirds love it!

Frittilaria - Checkered Lily

Salmonberry flower.

The Gingko, thinking about leafing out.

Umbrella Pine buds.

Acer Henryi, new leaves.

  1. Gorgeous detail shots, Ginger. I can't wait for our vine maple to get as far as yours, although an acer palmatum we added last fall is almost in full leaf already. Isn't spring wonderful? (especially this year!)

  2. I'm requesting a new camera for my bday coming up here in a couple of weeks. Wanna spill the details of yours? Great shots! Especially love the umbrella pine one. And a volunteer ribes in the parking strip?! I hereby wish for one of those! In answer to your question on my blog, I do try to tell people I'm giving plants to if the species tends to multiply/take over. Then they can't blame me later and say they weren't warned! I have given asters, lavender and Mexican feather grass but seem not to do that great with chives so if you ever come to SAGBUTT, feel free to bring some along! Next meeting should be on May 17, if we can get anyone to step up to organize it. We'd love to have you join!
